Buildings: Altar

Altar can be built as any other building in all your lands. The more Altars you have, the more sacrifices you can attempt in one day. Altar brings random element into the game and allows you to try and gain some money or mana (or lose it, if you're not lucky). In later stages of game it allows you to convert mana to gold or vice versa, in addition to the amount that you can convert using Marketplace. If players need mana, they sacrifice gold and ask mana from the gods.
Altar can be built only after the registration into a league has ended.

What can you sacrifice

You can sacrifice these resources - the more you sacrifice, the more you can get in return:
  • gold - maximum 500 gold
  • mana - maximum 300 mana
  • population - max. 10% of population of one land (you can select which land)

What can you ask from gods

  • gold - if you're lucky, you receive random sum based on sacrificed amount
  • mana - if you're lucky, you receive random amount based on sacrificed amount
  • fortune in attack - you receive certain bonus to your attack (but not only to attack - this is Easter egg)
  • goodwill of Dark Elf - this mighty being can send you some gift, but also can be angry with you...
  • goodwill of gods - gods can influence weather, result of other sacrifices and similar random things...

What is your chance of success?

On average, a little over 20% of sacrifices succeed. And even when you succeed, there is stil some random element in how much gold or mana you will gain. If you are playing as Necromant, you can increase probability of success if you build Bone Yard (special building - but affects results only when sacrificing population).
